Buncrana Golf Club
Buncrana Golf Club
Buncrana Golf Club in County Donegal is the oldest 9-hole links course in Ireland and delivers a challenge to the most advanced golfer and yet offers enjoyment to beginners also.
Buncrana Golf Club is located overlooking the beautiful White Strand on the shores of Lough Swilly, on the Inishowen Peninsula, County Donegal. History shows that golf was first played on the grounds from around 1834, when 4 to 5 holes were shaped into the existing landscape, for use by the local gentry, British Army personnel stationed in the town, and the travelling sailors who frequented Buncrana Pier. This would make the club the oldest 9-hole links golf club in Ireland.
The Buncrana Golf Club is located on the entrance to Buncrana and 200 metres from the Tourist Information Office. This par 66 packs so much entertainment into its compact site you can’t help leaving with a smile on your face. It also boasts the longest par five along the Wild Atlantic Way the 596 yards 14th hole. Green Fees are €25.00 & €15.00 for Open Competitions.
